This year's event will be held Friday June 1st & Saturday June 2nd. It will again be held in conjunction with Lee's Summit Main Street's Downtown Days festival!

The SOS BBQ competition started last year as the dream of the Lee's Summit Downtown Rotary members who wanted to establish a local tradition that would be our club's signature event.

 

All indications from teams and judges are that we did things right and they were all very excited for 2012! Sure there are things we can and will improve upon. If you thought last year was a well run competition, we have one thing to say… "you ain't seen nothin' yet!"

 

The 2012 event will be full of fun and great competition by up to 90 teams who's labor of love will fill the streets of downtown Lee's Summit with the rich smoky smell of BBQ! The teams involved will compete for a $10,000 purse and the right to be the 2012 Grand Champion of one of the Midwest's premiere BBQ competitions!
